If you dig deep in your closets, attics and basements, you will surely find some items bearing the colors red, blue and white. It is time to bring out these items, dust them off and prepare for the celebrations. Now no one expects you to paint your home with patriotic colors but a few colors here and there definitely does add a special touch to the special day. Here be some easy tips to celebrate through your house décor.
Changing the cushions is the best way to change the appearance of a room. If you have the desired colors, then there is nothing better; and when you don’t, all you have to do is buy cushion covers in the desired colors. With a white sofa, the effect will be absolutely perfect but even without that, you have a great way to incorporate the festive colors in your home and décor. For those of you who are skilled with the needle, you can produce a comfy cushion cover with an old quilt in the same color scheme. This will create a vintage room décor that can easily be carried along for the rest of the year.
Blue and red were popular colors for fine china when upon a time. Dig through the stash and look for some crockery in this color scheme. Even if you do not want to use them on the day, you could put them up on display in a nice glass cabinet. When you find those vintage, red-checkered tea towels, bring them out too. Decorate your table with white tablecloths, red-checkered towels and blue china; the effect will be quite striking. You could even use vintage enamelware for kitchen decoration and when you do not happen to have the older kinds; there are some new ones that still bear that old, homely look.
